The geneMAP™ PAI-1 4G/5G Mutation Detection Kit is a fast and accurate real-time PCR based test for the detection of the 4G/5G deletion/insertion polymorphism in the promoter region of the human SERPINE1 gene. In the presence of additional thrombosis-related mutations, the 4G allele is a risk factor for arterial and venous thrombosis as well as for pregnancy complica- tions.
